Corruption now a profession under Mahama - Titus Glover

New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Tema East, Daniel Nii Kwatei Titus Glover says corruption under the Mahama-led government is now a profession.

According to him, Ghana would have been ten times better off if it were being run by a President Akufo-Addo, given the numerous resources and huge funds available to the present administration.

The situation has become worse because the NDC government sees nothing wrong with looting the state's resources, Titus Glover added.

“Corruption is now a profession under Mahama. Even when resources are available to them, they are unable to manage it but rather choose to loot the state. They actually do it with impunity and with a style. In fact, incompetent Mahama and the NDC must go,” he said.

He was speaking on Adom FM’s Morning Show ‘Dwaso Nsem’ on Monday following revelations of several thousand of 'ghost names' on the Controller and Accountant General's (CAGD) pay roll.

Government has been battling to rid the payroll system of ghost names.

In order to halt the payment of such monies, the CAGD in September 2014, suspended salaries of about 20,000 employees without bank accounts.

But the problem persists.

The NPP MP pointed out that persons within the system insert these names, and it is up to the government to ensure they are cleaned in order to stop the wastage of national resources which eventually send us on our knees to the IMF and the World Bank for a bailout. So far, he said, the Mahama government has turned a blind eye to the growing canker.

Mr. Titus Glover called on Ghanaians to vote out the ‘incompetent’ NDC government in the 2016 elections.
